On 10th March, 1915, the start of the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, the 2nd King’s Royal Rifle Corps battalion of 2 Brigade, 1st Division were in Corps reserve and marched from Hinges to Locon and were not involved in any of the fighting associated with this battle. So there is no obvious explanation for the death of William Cox who was killed in action on this day and is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial to the missing. He might have been temporarily attached to another unit at the time or maybe his date of death was incorrectly recorded.
